EFT - Emotional Freedom/Energy Field Tapping Technique
(Robert Holden) This is a wonderful technique for removing the negative emotions that limit our success. Using this technique, you can gain the emotional freedom to truly pursue being, doing and having what you really want in life. EFT is a meridian-based energy therapy developed by Gary Craig from the landmark discoveries of Dr. Roger Callahan. It is a simple technique that often provides rapid relief from physical-emotional issues (e.g. Trauma, PTSD, Phobias, Grief, Anger, Guilt, Anxiety, Addictive Cravings, Nightmares, Abandonment, Fear of Public Speaking, Fear of Flying, Love Pain, Depression, Pain, Headaches and much more). "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system." In order to get different results, you need to do different things – or, in some cases, do things differently. Sounds simple… so why don’t we do this? Because our minds are designed to resist change. The ways to get what we want are readily available – the internet is chock full of “how to” sites on pretty much anything you can think of. It’s not a matter of not having the right information… it’s a matter of the information we already have inside that might be getting in our way. There is a part of us that is committed to staying the same – doing what is familiar – and so we experience stress when we attempt to make changes. It may show up as paralyzing fear that stops us from moving forward, or our non-conscious mind may just subtly distract us and we don’t even realize we’ve been knocked off course until sometime later, when we notice things aren’t getting better. Self-sabotage is simply misguided self-love. It’s not because we are bad or stupid – we are simply trying to protect ourselves – based on old programming and, likely, a lot of misunderstandings. Tapping/EFT – is a simple yet effective tool for clearing stress. (In fact, it may be the simplest and most effective stress-buster there is, outside of pharmaceutical tranquilizers!) And before you ask, yes – there is scientific research to support this. Rather than letting the fear of change stop us, we can tap away the stress and discomfort and give ourselves the freedom to examine what we might be afraid of… and discover that we actually can handle the positive changes. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. Rather than being controlled by our feelings, we have the freedom and ability to change our emotional state. Since at least 80-90% of our behavior is non-conscious – and 80-90% of the choices we make are made emotionally, emotional freedom is the freedom to make better choices. The freedom to make better choices is the freedom to succeed. And that’s why we tap. And… yes… admittedly, tapping looks a little silly – at least at first. If your life is already moving along the way you want, and internal resistance isn’t slowing you down, you may decide this isn’t for you. Of course, nothing’s so good that it can’t get better… and the potential benefits of tapping make this strange process more than worth it. C’mon… give it a try. What have you got to lose…?
I know the frustrations of feeling stuck. You have tried affirmations, vision boards and writing in your gratitude journal. You have been told to just think positively, eliminate the blocks to your success, push through and just do it. And as much as you want change and to improve your life you still haven't been able to achieve it. So instead, you stay stuck repeating the same patterns, in work, with finances, health issues, in relationships, and more.
Tapping works to rewire the brain. It wasn't until I started using Tapping that I was able to recognize an actual shift in my thinking and actually feel different in my body. That's when I knew things were different. My finances improved, my health issues cleared up, I found the love of my life (my wife!)... When I started using Tapping, there wasn't the scientific proof as to why it works like there is now. Back then it was spreading like wildfire for one simple reason...it worked and so people kept sharing it with others.
Today, research is showing how it works in changing the brain. Think about any challenges you're currently dealing with, whether they be with finances, weight loss, relationships, physical pain, overwhelming emotions, or whatever else you're struggling with... Are there things that you could be doing, if there were absolutely no limitations on you, that would help this problem? For example with weight loss, could you be exercising more and eating better? I'm sure you'd say "yes, absolutely." The challenge is of course rewiring our brain so that the way we think, feel and act is different. So that we're motivated to exercise, so that we don't struggle with food cravings, so that we're not overwhelmed with cortisol that holds on to weight. This is what Tapping does so beautifully. And it does this with all the areas of our life where we struggle. When we tap, we rewire the brain to make better decisions and take better actions that lead to more financial success. We rewire the brain so that we show up different in life and attract better relationships, or we show up better in our current ones. We rewire the brain to release physical pain from our body as our bodies release the traumas and emotions that hold pain in place. Every time you tap on a meridian point, while going through the tapping process and focusing on the challenge you're dealing with, you are sending a calming signal to your brain that is rewiring it. The biggest killer of better thoughts, feelings and actions are stress and the huge limitations that it puts on us. Using energy therapist

WHY DOES EFT WORK?
EFT is this quirky but extremely effective technique that works on many different issues. for resolving physical and emotional discomfort. It offers an in-depth approach, working on specific events and core issues, as opposed to surface treatments, which brings measurable, lasting results. I love seeing the shifts and changes the clients experience, feeling noticably more relaxed, confident and happy
there is an excellent chance that EFT can help an Energy Meridian Tapping technique that allows negative emotions to be released from the human energy field and subsequently from the body. It is based on the discovery that when focusing on a negative feeling or event while tapping acupressure points the “charge” of the event or feeling disappears because the neural patterns to the memory of that event have been calmed. Once the negative emotion is no longer resonating, positive changes and choices seem possible which would have otherwise been challenging. Simply put, EFT is acupressure for your emotions and limiting beliefs. S Bushell
What Can I Expect?People usually notice a difference in how they feel even after one session and EFT is known by millions worldwide as the technique to use for just about anything from improving a golf score to relieving depression. Most clients notice subtle benefits right away but for sustained improvement, often a number of sessions is needed to assist the brain to see things differently. EFT is not perfect. It does not have a 100% success rate. But it usually works very well and the results are often spectacular. Limiting beliefs that affect our life happiness can be eliminated. We can manage and sometimes eliminate physical pain. EFT achieves substantial relief where other methods have failed. This is not true for everything with everyone however but given time, practitioner skill and persistence, even complex issues may be resolved. If you have serious emotional or physical problems or diagnoses you are advised to consult your physician or licensed mental health practitioner, as EFT is an enhancement to, and not a substitute for, traditional medical or mental health treatment.
Self Sabotage is really all about internal conflict. One part of you really wants a solution to a problem so you can feel better and another part of you wants things to stay the same. This is because on some level it doesn’t feel safe to implement a solution. Often we are not conscious of why we are getting in our own way. In fact those two conflicting parts of us were created for very good reasons when we were very vulnerable, perhaps quite young and had to be in alignment with our family’s wishes and expectations. Milton Erickson, a famous hypnotherapist once said “all problems were once solutions” and this is very true when it comes to working with self sabotage. In actual fact you are not in conscious control of this behaviour. We simply repeat behaviour patterns from the past that worked for us in a time of stress or discomfort. The current problem stems from the fact that those old solutions are not working for our current situation. So what was once a solution now becomes a problem. There are often limiting beliefs attached to the self sabotage like “I’m not good enough” “I have to please others” or “It’s not OK to make mistakes” and these limiting beliefs, if not addressed with an energetic technique, can run our lives in ways that do not serve us and make achieving life goals feel like an uphill climb.
PART A: WHY ARE YOU PLAYING SMALL?
PART B: TOO AFRAID TO CHANGE?
PART C: WHAT IF I AM TOTALLY AWESOME?
Once we release the energy of the old behaviour patterns at the level of the unconscious, we free ourselves to move forward in life comfortably and without conflict.
I’ve helped many others, using EFT to quiet, and over time resolve, different addictions, from mind-altering substances to food and more. For those of you unfamiliar with EFT Tapping, it combines the best of both healing worlds: Eastern wisdom about acupressure, or “meridian points” in our bodies, and traditional Western psychotherapy, or “talk therapy.” The practice consists of tapping with your fingertips on nine specific meridian points while talking through traumatic memories and a wide range of emotions. Because EFT accesses the “stress centers” in your brain on physical and emotional levels simultaneously, EFT can effectively treat conditions like addiction, which often can’t be resolved successfully with psychotherapy alone, or with other alternative therapies
