Self-goodness - it's the new self-care
I haven't been a fan of the phrase "self-care." It's not about taking care of Self that seems to be the issue but the way the phrase sounds. It hasn't struck me as something enticing or fun to do. Instead, it sounds more like a chore, just another thing or person to have to take care of, and who wants to do more chores?
Most of us are aware that taking care of our Self is extremely important on so many levels. It is one of the pieces that creates a healthy personal foundation and relationship with your Self. And, the relationship you have with your Self affects E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G in your life. I also notice the difference in the way both terms sound. Give it a try ... say 'self-care' and notice how the "r" ends more harshly. Then, say 'self-goodness' and notice how the "s" sound at the end is softer and actually makes your mouth smile. Right? |
