In my private psychotherapy practice I offer individual therapy and couples counselling for adults. I also offer group workshops, retreats, and women's circles.
My approach with clients is holistic, client-centered, relational, trauma and nervous system-informed. I draw from - education, training, and experience - in many areas of current psychology including neuroscience, mindfulness, CBT, DBT, emotionally-focused therapies, the mind-body connection, internal family systems, narrative, somatic, attachment and developmental based theories.
I support my clients to help them recover and connect to an authentic sense of Self. Improve relationships, reduce the impact of stress & trauma, shift out of reactivity, strengthen resilience. Find fulfilling life paths, experience more openness, trust, centeredness & wholeness, more ease & peace in their everyday.
Benefits of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a process of self-exploration in which to better understand yourself, your patterns, and your inner world. With this greater understanding, healing, and connection to Self, you are better able to navigate your outer world with less reactivity and more conscious choice.
• Reconnect with your whole being - body, mind, emotions, soul, and Self • Increase confidence and self-worth • Build a toolbox of self-care and life skills • Find resolution to underlying causes of issues • Enhance emotional agility • Build a strong foundation and boundaries for healthy relationships • Reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and other symptoms of distress • Experience greater connection with yourself and others • Increase creativity and aliveness • Live a conscious life
Words - for when you're in transition ...
"Some periods of our growth are so confusing that we don't even recognize that growth is happening. We may feel hostile or angry or weepy and hysterical, or we may feel depressed. It would never occur to us, unless we stumbled on a book or a person who explained to us, that we are in fact in the process of change, or actually becoming larger, spiritually, than we were before.
Whenever we grow, we tend to feel it, as a young seed must feel the weight and inertia of the earth as it seeks to break out of its shell on its way to becoming a plant. Often the feeling is anything but pleasant. But what is most unpleasant is the not knowing what is happening.
Those long periods when something inside ourselves seems to be waiting, holding its breath, unsure about what the next step should be, eventually become the periods we wait for, for it is in those periods that we realize we are being prepared for the next phase of our life and that, in all probability, a new level of the personality is about to be revealed."
Body, like the mountain Heart. like the ocean Mind, like the sky
To me, wholeness is the key to aliveness. It is more than just physical vitality. It is radiance, coming from being at one with yourself and your experience. Life then flows through you.
