Are sessions covered by insurance? Many extended-health insurance benefit plans provide coverage for psychotherapy services. Please check directly with your insurance provider. If you have insurance, you may submit your receipt directly to your provider for reimbursement. Are sessions confidential? In accordance with the Ontario Personal Health Information Act (PHIPA) and in compliance with Ontario requirements and professional standards for Registered Psychotherapists with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO), all sessions and personal communication between us is private, confidential and securely stored. |
What if I'm paying privately? As an authorized medical practitioner, services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist are approved as authorized medical practitioners for the purposes of the medical expense tax credit. As such, the fees for psychotherapy can be claimed on your CRA tax return. Do I need a referral?Clients are welcome to self-refer to my private practice; a referral from a family physician or nurse practitioner is not required. I do, however, also receive and accept referrals from primary health care practitioners and other health & wellness service providers. |
Therapy, for the most well you.
What type of clients do you see?
I work with individuals navigating what matters most to them—in life’s natural ups and downs. It’s common to feel that your concerns are "minor" compared to larger world events, but pain is pain. Every experience is valid, and your concerns are just as important.
|
How can I prepare for my session?
Your session is an important time for you. To make the most of it, find a comfy, private space where you can relax and focus. Have water and tissues nearby, and consider having a notebook handy to jot down any thoughts, insights or questions you'd like to remember.
|
How are sessions offered?
Sessions are available virtually, with the option of video or phone, giving you greater flexibility & the comfort of being in your own familiar environment. As my practice is private and not part of a group practice, you also benefit from complete confidentiality and privacy.

What can therapy help me with?Therapy helps us come to a new understanding of ourselves. It's an opportunity to go into our emotions, thoughts, and psyche, into the places we don’t always go in our day-to-day lives.
A common misconception is that therapy is only for people who are struggling, but truthfully, it can benefit everyone. Therapy is also a time where you can unload the stresses of life, joined by a supportive, kind, and empathetic therapist who can help you process whatever you need to. In doing this, the hope is that we become more aware, enlightened, and deeply connected to ourselves. >> Read more about the benefits of psychotherapy |
